He had always had a vision of a world populated with characters who each had unique characteristics. It’s one of the most promising and highest potential Metaverse projects to come out of the booming Vietnam industry and pioneers the enjoy2earn model, an emerging area of #play2earn.

Come together in the first real connected Metaverse Experience where the user is not limited whatsoever by the world they are in, but instead have access to a limitless player-content-created parallel universe of worlds, each with their own unique storyline, community, governance, play modes, and socio-economic balance. Or build your own Metaverse piece-by-piece with your friends and polish your storyline as it manifests in the marvel that is The Parallel. Exceeding the customizability of Minecraft, players can develop a completely unique Metaverse within the world they are playing in. Plus, it’s actually possible to make your first NFT character available at sign-up for free however notice that you still need runes as you design and create your ParaGon and if you want to have it copyrighted and potential future earnings by having your designs licensed you still need to make the investment, but what an investment that can potentially be when millions of players could be using your designs in their daily gaming experience.

This project ventures into the Open World game genre which is defined by multiple sub-categories:

But in addition to this, with later plans of hosting entertainment options like professional sports or live concerts (Fortnite and the American rapper Travis Scott put on a virtual concert performance in 2020. He earned $20 million USD for it and the YouTube video has more than 173 million views)...the scope of this project is truly staggering!

The Parallel offers an endless universe of Parallel Worlds, each with its own storyline created by the players who are the inhabitants of the world. 2. Market Review

The Open World game genre is truly expansive and naturally can be broken down into 3 different sub-genres: Sandbox, Crafting, and Survival. These gaming styles already have well-established blockbuster hits in the traditional gaming world. But while The Parallel may have similar features to all, it draws them together into something truly unique and game-changing as The Parallel truly becomes what a MetaVerse is supposed to be.

Metaverse

A key aspect of The Parallel is that of infinite Metaverses where designers, creators, and players are limited only by their imagination and creativity. Metaverse has exploded as a term globally across all Social Media Platforms, News, Media, etc. since October 2021 when Facebook decided to change its name to Meta Platforms (Meta), the concept has been around for decades and the world's first real global introduction to the mass market was in The Matrix movies, that are not considered classics in the movie industry. Avatar is another very famous example of a total MetaVerse experience but with a very different narrative, and here lies the beauty of what a true MetaVerse is - indefinite in its ability to help convey not just one but a myriad of different individual stories that are relevant and meaningful and have the power to connect people together in shared social experiences within the MetaVerse.

As of 2020, the global market size for the Metaverse was $47.69 billion USD and expected to have a compound annual growth of 43.3%. This boom has been spurred on by the COVID-19 pandemic with many countries going into lockdowns and social distancing rules in place. As a result, people have turned to the digital realm and Web 3.0. Meta’s recent push into this realm is joined by Microsoft, Roblox, and Epic developing their own varieties of Metaverse, this is a phenomenon that will continue to emerge in the mainstream in the coming months and years.

Traditional gaming

Open World - Sandbox

While Minecraft can certainly be an example of this game genre (where players can choose where and when they explore game elements as opposed to an on-the-rails game taking you through a storyline), Assassin’s Creed is also another popular franchise where players have the freedom to explore the realm. The most recent game, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has earned $1.2 billion USD as of the first quarter of 2021.

Open World - Crafting (Construction / Building / Mining)

Roblox is also similar to The Parallel as it allows players to build entire worlds and games for other players. By the third quarter of 2021, Roblox revenues exceeded $500 million USD with a reported 102% increase year-over-year in revenue. With monthly active users increasing from 35 million to 150 million over three years, it has really boomed during the coronavirus pandemic period: 50 million users were added during this time. Similar to The Parallel, Roblox has multiple different worlds for players to enjoy and also has a tiered gaming set-up: you can join for free, but to access the really cool stuff that gets you ahead, you’ll need to chip in some of your personal funds.

Open World - Survival

Rust is a success story in the traditional gaming world - it earned $1 million USD in one day. A big part of this success stems from streamer/influencer collection, Offline TV, inviting many famous streamers to play at the same time. The point of Rust is to gather or steal materials in order to survive in the wilderness. The biggest threat? Not the bears and wolves (although they can certainly kill you), but the other players due to the multiplayer nature of the game.

Another huge hit in traditional gaming is Ark: Survival Evolved, where the threats can come from dinosaurs but also other players who may be hostile. Just like with The Parallel, players can collaborate to overcome challenges and it has PvE and PvP options. After just one month of its Steam early access release, Ark sold over 1 million copies and was one of the top 10 played games on Steam in 2020.

Traditional Gaming Limitations

One thing that Minecraft, Roblox, Rust, and Ark have in common is they charge players upfront to play (prices range from $20-40 USD for the alpha version on Steam), while The Parallel offers players the chance of #free2play and #play2earn. And the kicker? Early adopters played half-finished versions of these games for years.

This may have some readers scratching their heads. Why would players continue playing these games when they’re not fully finished or developed? The key is that each allows for user-created content ranging from items to entire worlds. This level of personalization is what makes users keep coming back for more - and they’re the real foundation for Metaverses. They give players the total storyline experience: play someone else’s unique game, or follow your vision and make your own.

Gamefi & Enjoy2Earn

Many will point to another game that could be compared to The Parallel that is also in development for blockchain-based gaming is the Sandbox. And there are definitely parallels to The Parallel.

Sandbox is also limited to PC users only, while The Parallel is already planned to be mobile friendly and multi-platform and if you combine that much more mature broad mass-market entry as well as the next generation NFT copyright, #design2earn, and #create2earn its clear to see why The Parallel has such a big attraction potential for both designer, creators and players compared to Sandbox.

There are already plans for AR and VR and it's not just in the whitepaper and on the roadmap, the concrete development is in full progress and it will be very exciting to follow The Parallel with the wide array of options they will offer for players to interface with at all levels and interaction points of the MetaVerse.

Foundation Game Mechanics

Custom Paragons (NFT)
- These are player-created characters. Each Paragon has its own unique feature which expresses the distinct personality of the player.
- Each Paragon NFT is unique and can be rented, bought, or sold.
- A Paragon's strength is based on the rarity and stats of the Runes which construct it.
CRAFT: Players will use Runes to form Paragons. The power of the Paragons will depend on the rarity and strength of the Runes during the crafting process. Crafting is Random Number Generated. Using identical Runes and materials will not always yield the same results.
UNCRAFT: Uncraft helps the player get back Rune materials in the event of creating undesirable Paragons. Based on different gaming purposes, players can craft to create a more suitable character. However, when "uncrafting", the player will lose some of the Rune materials used for crafting earlier.

Each unique Paragon expresses a distinct personality because of its individual features. They can be crafted with Runes, but also uncrafted to get some of the Runes back.

Marketplace

Trading and transaction activities of NFTs and items in The Parallel universe will take place at Marketplace. This virtual market is where players can buy and sell their normal items. Besides, the Marketplace will operate based on auctions. The rare items are put up with the starting price and the time of the auction. After each auction time, the person with the highest bid will win and buy the item.

Modes & Devices

In standard mode (without VR/AR), The Parallel offers a full range of features and activities for the character. This allows players to participate without depending on accessories (such as VR glasses). In the early stages of game development, players will be able to play both on desktop and mobile to experience in-game activities.

Governance Token

Limited to a total supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens, the PRL is the main token of The Parallel. The PRL Token plays a crucial part in the sustainable play2earn economy of The Parallel game and can be used for:

With two different tokens, The Parallel lets players channel their creativity. Do you want to mint a new Paragon NFT? Buy lands? These tokens are vital.

Earn and Burn

In order to sustainably develop the economic system, the revenue will be redistributed as an incentive for active contributors in The Parallel ecosystem.

All players must participate in-game activities to receive rewards.

Once a decentralized governance board is established, the parameters and conditions for allocation to the different groups will be determined by the governing board and no centralized party can unilaterally control those aspects.

Players have multiple options for earning tokens. When playing a casual game, you can earn PS tokens and Runes materials. Farming can get you PRL tokens, while staking PRL can earn PS tokens and Runes materials. Staking an NFT will earn you PRL tokens. There are also different options for trading:

on exchanges for tokens
in the Marketplace for NFTs, Runes, and Lands.

The PRL token is burned when crafting NFTs. Runes can also be used to craft NFTs, but also to uncraft NFTs - although you should know that there will be some loss of Runes from that process. The PS token is burned when buying consumable items and also crafting NFTs.

DeFi and Game

Decentralized Finance (DeFi) is finance in a blockchain-based form but does not need brokerages, exchanges, or banks from central financial intermediaries with traditional financial instruments, instead leveraging smart contracts on blockchains, typically from Ethereum. In The Parallel, DeFi takes the forms of staking, farming, and trading.

The game itself fosters an ecosystem of sharing, creating NFTs, and earning rewards.

5.3

Will you stake an NFT or land? Trade in the Marketplace? How will you harness your creativity when creating an NFT?

As previously mentioned in this Tokenomics section, players can farm, stake PRl and NFT, and trade on exchanges and in the Marketplace.

To dig a little deeper, players can deposit liquidity provider tokens (LP tokens) so they can earn PRL in a Farm pool.

With staking, players can stake their PRL tokens to get PS tokens and Runes/Materials so they can get further ahead in the game. They can also stake their NFTs to earn PRL tokens - and then maybe stake those tokens!

Trading can happen in two places: on Exchanges to earn a profit, or in the Marketplace you can trade NFTs.

Economic Loop

The Parallel uses a cycle to propel the economy. For example, the player can earn PRL and PS tokens from staking and farming rewards. These tokens are then burned for enhancement or fusion, or as a fee for crafting NFTs (although players uncraft an NFT to get some of their Runes back as mentioned in the Product Review section). By playing the game, you can earn MiniGame Rewards or sell your creative design to others. There are different fees you’ll need to take care of, such as the governance fee, creation of Paragon / ParaArt fees, or buying Tools. Gain more tokens and Runes from uncrafting NFTs, selling them in the Marketplace, or renting out Land.

The 1,000,000,000 PRL tokens will be released in different stages with some available to Strategic Partners in advance, and for sale in private and public rounds. 6.Roadmap

While The Parallel is relatively recent in development (a fourth-quarter start in 2021), there is a clear plan for development reaching across all of 2022. In 2021, there is a token generation event, and to launch the landing page and earning feature. The foundation game to craft Paragons will get started and allow for submission to Paragon designs. Features to look forward to in 2022 include the launching of the Marketplace and the mining game which will later be extended into a new casual mining game. Also, keep an eye out for the Land sale in the second quarter of 2022.

In the third quarter, there are plans to expand to AR and VR and integrate with game developers and entertainment companies. Remember those virtual concerts and sports events we talked about in the Introduction? That’s the time frame they’re planning for those kinds of projects to start...

As noted in the Roadmap section above, The Parallel is still a new project and will no doubt be gathering more partners and investors in the near future as its ground-breaking potential becomes known.
